Quigley has built his career at the intersection of manufacturing, mission-critical cooling, data center infrastructure and energy stewardship. In 2026, Quigley moved into the Chief Strategic Relations Officer role at Airsys, focusing on executive relationships, strategic partnerships, industry engagement and long-range infrastructure strategy. He works closely with customers, technology partners, engineering teams and industry leaders as Airsys grows its position in mission-critical cooling, liquid cooling and modular infrastructure design.
Before this role, Quigley served as President of Airsys from 2021 to 2026, a period in which the company strengthened its presence across the North American data center and mission-critical infrastructure markets — expanding its work with hyperscale, colocation, telecommunications and AI infrastructure customers, and advancing Airsys’ position as a manufacturer addressing the thermal challenges of high-density compute.

Advancing PCE as an Industry Standard
One of Quigley’s defining contributions has been his role in co-developing and advocating for Power Compute Effectiveness, or PCE — a metric defined as provisioned power for compute divided by provisioned total data center power. Where Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) measures efficiency, PCE measures effectiveness: how much of a facility’s provisioned power is physically allocated to compute.
That distinction matters as AI workloads reshape data center design. A facility can post an attractive PUE and still fail to allocate enough of its provisioned power to compute — PCE is built to expose that gap, giving owners, operators, investors, utilities and communities a clearer way to assess whether infrastructure design is allocating provisioned power effectively.
Quigley’s advocacy for PCE reflects a broader view: the data center industry needs better language and more disciplined metrics to move past narrow efficiency claims toward a fuller picture of infrastructure effectiveness.
Water Stewardship and Heat Reuse
Quigley is also a co-author of Greener Data, an Amazon best-selling book on the future of sustainable data centers. That work ties into his advocacy for water-conscious data center design, including zero-WUE approaches that reject heat without consuming water during normal operation.
He’s also been a vocal advocate for practical heat reuse — viewing expelled heat as an underutilized energy stream that, where infrastructure and economics allow, can help offset heating demand for buildings, campuses, resorts and industrial facilities. As Quigley puts it, reuse isn’t free or effortless, but the industry should be far more serious about capturing value from energy that would otherwise be rejected into the environment.
Background
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Quigley entered the HVAC industry after earning a Bachelor of Science in English, with an emphasis on business communications, from Ball State University in 1990. That communications background became a defining strength of his career — translating complex technical concepts into practical business language for engineers, customers, executives, investors and public audiences alike.
Before joining Airsys, Quigley served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bard HVAC, and held regional leadership roles at Goodman and Excelsior Manufacturing and Supply Corporation, building a foundation in manufacturing, channel strategy and applied HVAC markets.
Quigley credits much of his approach to a simple principle: “prescription before diagnosis is malpractice” — understanding the real problem before recommending an answer.
Outside of work, Quigley enjoys spending time with his wife of 37 years, Eve, is a devoted father of four, and enjoys rebuilding motorcycles and teaching science to his grandchildren.
